Illness prevention is high on the agenda right now more than ever, in fact it always should be.
I haven’t always made wise & healthy choices, so I keep my nutrition and body in good shape – paying back debt of yesteryears sinners choices – so keeping healthy and maintaining good balance is a priority for me.
My first foray into the joys of honey, raw honey was the most delightful of experiences. I was 18 and working in Greece, a local taverna owner had a field full of bee hives and produced tonnes of honey, one day I was presented with home produced Greek yoghurt smothered with the nectar of the local bees, if nirvana came in a dish then I was wrapped in its arms and on my way to heaven, 29 years later I can still induce memories of that taste, that place and that smoothness in a heartbeat and I’ve never got close to recreating those two delights in such magical format and believe me I’ve tried !!
A lover of honey as an alternative to refined sugar (which I cut out a few years ago) to add to recipes or as a natural medicine, honey has some amazing health benefits with raw, unpasteurised honey being used throughout history for a variety of medicinal uses, here are just a few:
A good source of antioxidant. Raw honey contains an array of plant chemicals that act as antioxidants. Antibacterial and antifungal properties. Heal wounds.Phytonutrient powerhouse. Help for digestive issues. Soothe a sore throat.
Most supermarket sourced honey is pasteurised, using this process means the high heat kills unwanted yeast, removes crystallisation to extend the shelf life and the process kills of many of the beneficial nutrients in the process.
So, I went on a mission to find some “super HONEY” and came across this Supercharged bad boy from @JUSTBEE and the added bonus was this magical concoction has two more of my favourite things in the mix, LEMON & GINGER and if that wasn’t enough it also packs an additional natural punch with added echinacea and vitamins B12, B6 & C giving your immune system a superhero overcoat for added flight speed!
This sweet hit packed with a tonne of great goodness from natures store cupboard is absolutely beautiful, I opted for a heaped teaspoon in a cup of hot water on my first ride out and boy what a delight it is to drink.
I’m not a fan of prescribed medicine, I believe that we have all we need right under our feet (you may have to walk a little to find exactly what you need) to ward off illness and maintain wellness, combined with other good stuff too of course! It’s natural all the way for me and this great tub is very welcome in my store cupboard.
Now, if you are totally WFPB I get it may not be suitable for you – however what I also loved about receiving my honey was it came with a special bee-friendly wild flower seed mix with over 30 different types of wildflower, so its great to give back to the bees and get some amazing colours for your garden or local green spot.
So, honey lovers, immune boosting lovers, natural ingredient lovers if you are after some sweet nirvana to support your health and wellbeing this cherub in a pot is definitely worth a test drive.
I’m not endorsed in any way to give justbee or their products a shout out, but if i kept this to myself it would be a travesty to the honey eating good folk out there nope, I’m simply sharing the delights of my sweet research and boy have I researched and this is worth sharing.

What an interesting read Clare! #bees #supercharged @justbee
